Mersmak in Örebro
Is a restaurant focusing on traditional Swedish cuisine, good food, and great service.
We prepare lunch for primary schools in Örebro, serving about 1300 portions a day.
About the position
We are looking for a cheerful personality with a great passion for food and flavors, who enjoys a fast-paced environment, order, and structure, and who wants to drive the business forward together with the rest of the team. In dialogue with our guests, we want you to engage and be creative in matters such as food waste and plant-based alternatives.
You will have a dedicated group of guaranteed friendly chefs, cold kitchen staff, and kitchen assistants to support you.
In this role, you will have a lot of customer contact and be responsible for the food in the kitchen, checking quality every day. You should have experience working in a large kitchen and have extensive knowledge of traditional Swedish cuisine. You will work according to a budget and be responsible for maintaining it.
A typical day may include:
- Menu planning
- Purchasing food supplies
- Inventory management
- Responsible for food hygiene self-control programs
- Training kitchen staff
- Guest interaction
Together with the unit manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that we follow the company's routines, policies, and legal requirements.

You should have extensive knowledge of kitchen work, enjoy working with colleagues, and meeting customers. You should have the drive to be with students at schools and meet our regulars at the restaurant.
You should be able to juggle multiple tasks and think ahead.

- At least three years of work experience as a kitchen manager.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role
- Previous experience in menu planning, budgeting & inventory
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English

Extent: Full-time
Working hours: Daytime Monday-Friday, but evenings and weekends may occur for orders, catering, and other events.
