Train Technician and Troubleshooter for SJ Stockholmståg AB in Bro Depot

We at SJ Stockholmståg are now looking for you who want to help deliver safe, intact, and clean trains to the commuters of Stockholm, where you are part of a large corporation with significant social responsibility. In the role of train technician with us, you will work with both preventive and corrective maintenance as well as troubleshooting of the vehicle types X60/X60A/X60B.

Your upcoming role

The work includes preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanics, electronics, and software. For certain roles, we are looking for specialist competence, for example, expertise in troubleshooting, ATC/ETCS, refrigeration technology, etc.

You will be an important part of a team that together ensures that all our trains receive the service and maintenance required for the trains to be safe and punctual. The work is carried out in shifts every day of the week, including night work. Our operations are open around the clock every day of the year.

Expectations for the candidate we are looking for

• We are looking for someone with at least a high school education with a technical focus.
• We prefer that you have experience from mechanical or electrical work.
• It is advantageous if you have experience in train technology, maintenance of trucks, passenger cars, industrial electricians, or have attended a vocational school with a focus on vehicles.

We hope you enjoy challenges and want a varied job. Furthermore, it is very important that you are fluent in Swedish in both speech and writing as instructions are written in Swedish and must be understood. There may also be tests in English.

As a person, you are flexible, safety-conscious, and service-oriented. It is important that you are also customer-oriented, meticulous, and quality-conscious. You will work in a team, which requires good collaboration and communication skills, while you should also be able to work independently.

To qualify for the position, you must undergo a health examination. You must be drug-free, have good vision, good hearing, and color vision, and otherwise meet the requirements according to the Transport Agency's regulations on health examinations and health status. SJ also applies, in accordance with the Transport Agency's guidelines, random alcohol and drug testing.

As the position may be placed in a security class according to the Security Protection Act, this may mean that Stockholmståg AB will conduct a security assessment of you as a candidate before employment. A successful security assessment is then a prerequisite for employment.

What is SJ Stockholmståg?

SJ Stockholmståg (SJP) is a subsidiary of SJ AB and has had total responsibility for the commuter trains since March 3, 2024; traffic, maintenance, and service. The commuter train traffic is an important artery for many residents in the Stockholm region. On a typical Tuesday, over 340,000 people travel on the commuter trains in Stockholm, and as the city grows, it is our responsibility to offer the opportunity to travel sustainably. Together with our more than 1,800 employees, we work closely with the Traffic Administration (SL) to create a safe, stable, and reliable commuter train service for our employees and passengers.
