JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you have a green thumb and enjoy working outdoors? We are looking for park workers for the technical office. As a park worker, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of green areas in Vetlanda municipality. You will promote and develop biodiversity. Together, we do a valued job for our citizens as we preserve and develop the municipality's green structure.

In the park unit, we work with:

• maintenance of green areas
• planting, weeding, pruning and trimming trees, shrubs, and hedges
• care and watering of summer flowers
• spring and autumn cleaning
• cleaning, emptying bins and dog waste stations
• light ground work
• construction work and repair of park areas
• establishing new green areas and flowerbeds as well as establishing new plantings
• maintenance of playgrounds
• transport and maintenance of public outdoor furniture

To fit in this role, you need to be physically fit, enjoy practical work, and not be afraid to get your hands dirty when needed. Most importantly, you enjoy being outdoors, regardless of the weather. As a person, you are easy to collaborate with and can easily adapt to circumstances. Structure is important for teamwork within the group, but you should also be able to independently plan your day and tasks.

It is essential that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

The position is temporary from May 5 to September 30. The extent is 100 percent.

QUALIFICATIONS

• We are looking for someone with a three-year nature management high school diploma, or another high school education complemented by basic gardening training, or other education and experience that we consider equivalent.
• Training in road work is desirable.
• You have a driver's license with at least B category.
• We place great importance on personal qualities.

Meritorious:

• BE driver's license or B96
• Chainsaw certification
• Previous experience in green maintenance
