Staff Officer to the Implementation Department at MSS Headquarters in Kvarn

The role of the Mark Combat School (MSS) is to create conditions for ground combat units to effectively fulfill their assigned tasks both nationally and internationally, in collaboration with other parts of the army. MSS also handles tasks for the entire Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, firearms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the Mark Combat School trains the future leaders of the Armed Forces with the help of advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.

The Mark Combat School is looking for a professional officer who wants to serve at the MSS implementation department in Kvarn.

The Mark Combat School is organized with a headquarters, development unit, training unit, and the 1st Division's cadre staff. MSS operates in both Skövde and Kvarn.

The MSS headquarters consists of approximately 29 employees and is divided into seven departments under the leadership of the chief of staff. The position is located at the MSS implementation department, which has personnel in both Skövde and Kvarn. At the implementation department in Skövde, there is a chief, staff officer, traffic safety manager, administrator, and IT manager. In Kvarn, there is an operational safety officer, administrator, and the vacant position of staff officer.

Main Responsibilities

As a staff officer in the implementation department, you will work both independently, leading preparations within the staff, and/or in temporarily assembled working groups within MSS. The work will vary in nature and scope, where a flexible approach and task adaptation are prerequisites for achieving expected results. The staff officer position also includes supporting the security department at MSS headquarters as the deputy security chief in Kvarn and being able to participate in exercise management during exercises.

Requirements

• Professional officer SO7 – OF2.
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
• Good computer skills in the Armed Forces' IT systems.
• Driver's license B, manual transmission.

Qualifications

• Experience working at the staff battalion/regimental level.
• Experience in short- and long-term planning.
• Experience in execution management at the battalion/regimental level.
