About the position

The Radiation Therapy department is part of the medical unit (ME) in Theme Cancer, Karolinska University Hospital in Solna. Our operations are conducted in modern facilities equipped with eight accelerators, a large brachytherapy department, and preparatory operations with fixation lab, CT scanners, MRI machines, and dose planning. We provide highly specialized radiation therapy and treat all types of tumors, responsible for radiation therapy for both children and adults. The department has about 100 employees and with a catchment area for all residents of Stockholm and Gotland, it makes us one of Sweden's largest radiation therapy departments.

Task-based training/specialist training in radiation therapy starts in the spring term of 2025, Monday week 17. It is a full-time training in collaboration with Lund University and the training is included in your employment with us. We guarantee a study place and salary payment during the study period. The course package includes the following courses:

• General oncology 7.5 credits
• Organ-specific oncology 7.5 credits
• Nursing in radiation therapy 15 credits
• Practice-based training in radiation therapy 15 credits.

To become part of our team in Radiation Therapy, a Swedish nursing license and specialist training in radiation therapy are required. For the position as a specialist nurse in oncology, you need to complete a master's thesis, which you can do at a later stage after working for a while. • has the ability for critical thinking and the ability to notice details.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Swedish nursing license or Swedish radiology nursing license.
• At least 2 years of clinical work in emergency care or equivalent
