Deputy Platoon Leader (Professional Officer) for 26th Company, Blekinge Air Wing

The Swedish Armed Forces is in a growth phase, and it seems that this will not stop in the near future. The volume of both employed and conscripted personnel is set to increase in the coming years, and to meet the growth of particularly conscripted personnel at Blekinge Air Wing, we are now looking for someone who wants a meaningful job and contribute to Sweden's security in uncertain times.

26th Company

The main task of the company is military basic training for the majority of the conscripted personnel belonging to Blekinge Air Wing. In addition, the 26th Company annually solves several state ceremonial tasks and readiness tasks, as well as conducts exercises and training with our continuously employed personnel.

About the Position

The position of deputy platoon leader means that you, as part of a platoon unit, plan and conduct training for conscripts. You are also responsible for the platoon's equipment and vehicles and support the platoon leader in planning and conducting conscription training. The position is varied and will be carried out both at the unit and at training and shooting ranges. You will develop in your role as an instructor and leader in the Armed Forces and be given the opportunity to lead specific training such as combat training and position training, as well as lead the platoon in the absence of the platoon leader. The position also includes troop leadership in the role. We continuously work with FKY at the company, and you will be trained and developed towards the next position relevant to your officer category.

Requirements

  • Driving license B (manual)
  • Approved officer training within the Armed Forces
  • Meets the requirements according to FM FysS

Meritorious

  • Experience in a leadership position within the Armed Forces
  • SUSA instructor
  • Medical instructor
  • SERE instructor
  • Close combat instructor
  • Security guard instructor
  • CBRN instructor
  • Instructor Ksp58, Ksp90, Pskott m/86, Pistol88
  • Throwing leader HGR
  • Previous experience as an instructor at GU

Personal Qualities

As a person, you are social, easily connect and collaborate with others. You are responsible, have great initiative, and strive to develop as an instructor. You enjoy teaching and are not averse to working under high workloads during periods and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, you are a role model for both conscripts and colleagues and follow the Armed Forces' values and code of conduct. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Other

Employment type: permanent employment. Military position (OF1/OR6-7). Begins with a 6-month probationary period if you are currently not employed in the Armed Forces.

Employment rate: 100%

Salary: Individual salary setting based on the Armed Forces' salary structure.

Work location: Kallinge, travel and service at other locations may occur.

Start date: By agreement, but no later than 2025-08-01.

Information about the Armed Forces and the recruiting unit:

Blekinge Air Wing trains three combat units; two fighter squadrons with Jas 39 Gripen and one support unit. The fighter squadrons play an important role in protecting Sweden's airspace, which is called incident readiness. The support unit is the largest combat unit that contains everything needed to get the Gripen aircraft in the air. This includes maintenance of the aircraft, base protection, logistics, and operation of the airport. The wing also trains the Air Force's only ranger unit, the airbase rangers. Their task includes gathering information through reconnaissance and protecting the personnel and vehicles of the air combat forces.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required.
