We are now looking for part-time staff for our part-time stations in Iggesund, Delsbo, Friggesund, and Jättendal.

Norrhälsinge Rescue Service works for a safe and secure municipality. Our main tasks involve participating in community planning for satisfactory protection. We work to create conditions for property owners/holders to prevent fire outbreaks and minimize the consequences of fire. We provide information and hold training sessions annually on fire safety.

Job Responsibilities

As a part-time firefighter, you will work in an emergency response team, participate in training and exercise activities, and perform basic maintenance of equipment and vehicles. You will work alongside other firefighters under stressful conditions, which requires good teamwork skills and social competence. You should be able to work independently and take your own initiatives.

The position involves being on call every fourth week, during which you must be able to report to the rescue station within eight minutes (around the clock) after an alarm. It is therefore important that you live in the area and work there. Training activities occur with 50 hours/year and 2 day exercises (weekdays) /year.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has a good ability to work in a team, is stress-resistant, and practical. You have a high degree of personal maturity. You are self-driven, flexible, and resilient in challenging circumstances. It is also important that you are good at communicating with people and are service-oriented.

No prior knowledge is required; the person hired will receive the training necessary for the position. The person who is selected for the position must be medically approved by our occupational health service to be employed. At the beginning of the employment, it is mandatory to attend a 3-week competency training for part-time firefighters. During the training period, you will receive a salary from us. Afterward, you will be able to start working and be on call. To obtain a permanent position as a part-time firefighter, a C driver's license is required. For those who are hired but lack a C driver's license, the rescue service will cover the training costs provided that the license is obtained during your probationary period.

Requirements:

• Approved treadmill test (4.5, max 3 months old)
• Swim competent
• Good physical condition
• B driver's license
• You live and work a maximum of 8 minutes from the rescue station
• Approval from your primary employer to work as part-time staff

Admission tests and interviews are scheduled for January 30 and 31, 2025.
