Scope: Full-time. Location: Solna, Stockholm. Work may occur at other workshop locations. Shift work may also be required – operations run 24/7, year-round. Working hours and arrangements will be adapted as much as possible to your skills and life situation. Start date: Desired start date is immediate. Employment type: Permanent employment with a six-month initial probationary period. This is a direct recruitment.

Swedtrac conducts railway maintenance in rented premises, repairs in workshops of non-manufactured locomotives and other rolling stock and track materials. YOUR ROLE

As a train technician, you will play a central role in ensuring that the vehicles are in top condition. Your main tasks include:

  • Perform regular maintenance and service on train vehicles to ensure they are operational.
  • Diagnose and repair technical faults on trains.
  • Proactively prevent technical problems and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement improvements and optimize productivity.
  • Perform troubleshooting and modification of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Rebuilds.

We are looking for you who:

  • Have previous work experience. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
  • Are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Have a B driver's license 
  • Have knowledge of the railway industry or experience from the automotive, industrial, or aviation sectors is an advantage 
  • Good electrical competence (AC/DC, troubleshooting, schematic reading) is also an advantage.
