About the unit

The operations of Defense Health consist of occupational health care and health care for eligible personnel and conscripts. Our operations focus on health promotion, preventive, treatment, and rehabilitation measures aimed at promoting good health, as well as a good physical, mental, organizational, and social work environment.

Our team consists of various professions such as doctors, occupational nurses, district nurses, physiotherapists, occupational safety engineers, psychologists, and medical secretaries. The work is conducted in an integrated manner between our different competencies.

Main responsibilities

As a physiotherapist at Defense Health, you are a central resource in both medical work and occupational health care. You will work with a wide range of tasks where you are expected to make assessments and rehabilitation of conscripts and employees. You will work at the individual, group, and organizational level with training, work environment, and ergonomic investigations, as well as other preventive and health-promoting initiatives.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physiotherapist
• At least 3 years of professional experience in primary care or occupational health care or equivalent
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both English and Swedish
• Good computer skills
• Driving license B (manual transmission)

Meritorious

• Further education/experience in load ergonomics
• Further education/experience in orthopedic medicine
• Further education/experience in sports medicine
• Experience in preventive work and conducting lectures and training is also meritorious.

Personal qualities

You have a consultative approach. As a person, you are expected to have a well-developed ability for independent work where you are confident in making your own assessments and actions. You enjoy working in a team with other professionals to achieve a holistic view. It is important that you have a high service mindset and that you are flexible to adapt to new conditions and tasks. Since you will be conducting some training, it is important that you are comfortable in the role of educator or feel that this is something you want to develop in.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Other

The position is a permanent employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. The working hours include three hours of physical training per week.

Work location: Ronneby. Work at other locations may occur during training, education, etc.

Start date: By agreement.

After six months of probationary employment, you will be assigned to military service and are expected to complete basic soldier training (GSU).

Information about the Armed Forces and the recruiting unit:

Blekinge Air Force Wing trains three military units; two fighter squadrons with Jas 39 Gripen and one base unit. The fighter squadrons play an important role in protecting Sweden's airspace, which is called incident readiness. The base unit is the largest military unit that contains everything needed to get the Gripen aircraft in the air. This includes maintenance of the aircraft, protection of the base, logistics, and operation of the airfield. The wing also trains the Air Force's only ranger unit, the airbase rangers. Their task includes gathering information through reconnaissance and protecting the personnel and vehicles of the air combat forces.
