Job Advertisement: Vocational Teacher in Adult Education

Adult Education

Adult education has actively invested in vocational training for adults for several years. Today, we offer training in several professions, either on our own or in collaboration with others. As a teacher, you will be part of a team with 15 other vocational teachers and three coordinators.

Your Responsibilities

You will work with workshop skills for adults, focusing on both larger industries and smaller mechanical workshops and smithing companies located in Gotland. You will work in a team that educates students in the basic handling of tools, welding, and commonly used machines in the metal industry such as lathes, milling machines, and similar. The teaching follows the Swedish National Agency for Education's curricula, and you will continuously monitor and document students' development together with your colleagues.

The training is conducted within the framework of the Swedish National Agency for Education's high school subjects. Examples of high school subjects to teach include Production Equipment, Tool and Material Handling, CAD/CAM, and Welding. You will participate in the development of our training programs together with other teachers and industries in Gotland.

You will have a mentor who will help you with the introduction to the workplace and your job as a teacher with us.

Who Are You?

You are preferably an educated vocational teacher, but if you do not have a teaching license today, there is an opportunity to obtain it in connection with the position.

We are looking for someone with experience in mechanical workshop work. You are familiar with repairing machines, welding, and processing metal in various ways. You enjoy working with others and passing on your knowledge.

You have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for someone with good collaboration skills. You have solid knowledge in the vocational field and the ability and willingness to pass on that knowledge to others.

About the Education and Labor Management

As part of Region Gotland, we contribute in the Education and Labor Management to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults. We are responsible for, among other things, preschools, primary schools, after-school programs, adapted primary and secondary schools, cultural schools, high school and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, and the reception and establishment of newcomers.
