For our assignment Career Guidance in Visby, we are looking for a colleague for a permanent position as a Study and Career Counselor.

Career Guidance is a service that Iris Hadar performs on behalf of the Employment Agency. The overarching goal of the service is to help more job seekers with short education or transition needs to start or resume studies. For this, we are now looking for a licensed Study and Career Counselor who shares our drive to support individuals into work or education.

Career Guidance consists of activities that enable people of all ages and stages in life, based on their strengths, competencies, and interests, to make meaningful choices related to education and work. The purpose is for the participant to find sustainable paths to education and work and to become more aware of their competencies and abilities as well as their educational potential to achieve their goals.

What are my tasks?

You will be responsible for the cohesive guidance process for the individual and conduct both mapping conversations and individual guidance sessions.

Based on the participant's conditions, your task is to match the participant with realistic study and career choices. The role also includes informing the participant about different educational paths and professional areas in the labor market.

Examples of tasks:

• Identify the participant's competencies, need for support in the form of interpreters, aids, etc.
• Individual conversations, documentation, and assessments
• Group discussions and lectures
• Supportive/motivational conversations
• Advice and competency transfer
• Together with the participant, build a clear career plan where the common thread is visible

Who are you?

To be eligible for this position, you must have a degree as a Study and Career Counselor. Experience working with individuals with disabilities and mental health issues is also meritorious. Experience working for equal opportunities is also considered an asset. As a person, you are structured, self-driven, initiative-taking, and flexible. You have the ability to motivate others and work very goal-oriented. We place great importance on personal suitability for the position.

Additional information

The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period. Start date is immediate or by agreement.
