For our assignment Career Guidance Visby, we are looking for a colleague for a permanent position as a Study and Career Counselor

Career guidance is a service that Iris Hadar performs on behalf of the Employment Service. The overall goal of the service is for more job seekers with short education or restructuring needs to start or resume studies. For this, we are now looking for a Licensed Study and Career Counselor who shares our drive to support individuals in work or education.

Career guidance is activities that enable people of all ages and stages in life, based on their strengths, competencies, and interests, to make meaningful choices related to education and work. The aim is for the participant to find sustainable paths to education and work and become more aware of their competencies and abilities, as well as their educational potential to achieve their goal.

What are my responsibilities?

You will be responsible for the cohesive guidance process for the individual and conduct both mapping interviews and individual guidance sessions.

Based on the participant's conditions, your task is to match the participant with realistic study and career choices. The role also includes informing the participant about different study paths and professional areas in the labor market.

Examples of tasks:

• Identify the participant's skills, need for support such as interpreter, aids, etc.
• Individual interviews, documentation, and opinions
• Group interviews and lectures
• Supportive/motivational conversations
• Advice and skills transfer
• Together with the participant, build a clear career plan where the red thread is visible

Who are you?

To be eligible for this position, you must have a license as a Study and Career Counselor. Experience working with people with disabilities and mental health problems is considered a merit. Experience working for equal conditions is also seen as a merit. As a person, you are structured, independent, resourceful, and flexible. You have the ability to motivate other people and work very goal-oriented. We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position.

Additional information

The position is a permanent full-time position that begins with a 6-month probationary period. Entry is immediate or by agreement.
