The Regional Command Center (RLC) is a section within the Operational Unit responsible for leading police intervention activities throughout the region. You will serve alongside around twenty civilian employees and police officers as RLC operators and supervisors, who together assess and prioritize incoming phone calls and radio requests, as well as lead and plan larger events within the region using various digital tools.
We are now looking for new operators for the Regional Command Center (RLC operators) who are driven to make a difference and want to develop. Working in the RLC is challenging and fun as you gain a good understanding of the police's work in the region.
The RLC in the central region is located in Uppsala in modern and adapted premises. We offer an accessible and inclusive workplace.
Job Description
The main task of the operators is to, under the guidance of team leaders, respond to incoming phone calls and radio requests, assess and register the information, and prioritize and dispatch police resources to various assignments. Responsibilities include maintaining high availability in the Command Center, providing citizens with a good response, and ensuring that the police can quickly respond and act on cases where citizens need immediate or urgent assistance from the police. The work involves collaboration with other authorities, organizations, and partners such as SOS Alarm, the County Administrative Board, the Fire Service, and the ambulance service in the region.
The operator works in a team with ongoing cases and interventions. The work is conducted in shifts according to a rolling schedule. You will work planned day, evening, and night shifts throughout the year, weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
· High school diploma or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience
· At least 1 year of work experience
· Very good ability to communicate in spoken and written Swedish
· Good understanding and ability to communicate orally in English
· Good computer skills and ability to learn new computer systems
· Swedish citizenship
· B driver's license
It is meritorious if you have
· Experience in professionally meeting and communicating with people in vulnerable situations
· Work experience in high multitasking environments such as alarm centers, ambulances, healthcare, the armed forces, communication centers, customer service/support, or similar work that the employer deems equivalent
· Experience working primarily via phone and computer
· Additional language skills

· Collaborative ability: you have a good ability to create contact, are relationship-building, and enjoy collaborating with others
· Good communication skills, you have a good ability to listen, be attentive, and clarity is central as well as being well-articulated and having the ability to adapt communication style to the situation
· Good problem-solving ability, you have a good ability to absorb information, quickly understand complex situations under time pressure, and have a good ability to prioritize
· Multitasking ability, you have a good ability to perform several tasks simultaneously. To absorb information via phone or other communication while managing computer programs and assessing the information
· Ability to work independently and take initiative
· Emotionally stable; you remain calm and composed in critical or pressured situations

Training
Your employment begins with approximately 20 weeks of training, alternating between theory and practice, full-time. The training is scheduled to start in mid-August 2025. A prerequisite for being considered for employment is that you are available throughout the training period.
During the theoretical parts of the training, work will take place during daytime Monday to Friday, while practical training will occur in three shifts from Monday to Sunday.
More about the employment
Employment form: Fixed-term employment during training, followed by permanent employment with a six-month probationary period subject to successful certification. For those already employed by the authority, a temporary placement will be provided during the training period.
Tests will be used in the recruitment process.
Digital personality and problem-solving tests are planned for those who meet the requirements during week 6. Work samples are planned for weeks 9-10 and interviews for weeks 13-14 for relevant candidates.
Work location: Uppsala
Working hours: Three shifts including weekend and night work.
Start date: Training starts in mid-August 2025. The training takes place during paid working hours.
