The Nordmarkens parish is looking for a church caretaker for the cemetery management at Holmedals Church. Permanent position 100%

The Nordmarkens parish consists of eight congregations with nine beautiful churches, associated cemeteries, and a large property portfolio. The cemetery management in Nordmarkens conducts burial and service activities with high ethical standards and is responsible for 9 burial sites with significant cultural historical values. Currently, there are 14 permanent employees in the burial activities organization.

Job responsibilities

A varied and important job in our churches and in a fantastic outdoor environment in our cemeteries. You will be part of a team where you collaborate with the other caretakers together with the cemetery manager. You carry out the daily work in the cemeteries and properties. This includes maintenance of green areas, plantings, and grave sites, as well as various tasks related to property management. Driving various machines is included, as well as working weekends during services and church ceremonies.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in garden/park work, preferably from a cemetery. You have knowledge and experience in driving various machines such as lawn mowers and trimmers. It is a merit if you have qualifications for chainsaws, brush cutters, and work from a cherry picker. Furthermore, you have a B driver's license and good physical fitness as the work can be physically demanding. You should have the ability and willingness to meet people in different stages of life and have a humble and positive attitude. You are responsible, driven, and can take initiative. You have good teamwork skills and work well with all colleagues. It is important that you enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions. You should be flexible as the days can quickly change direction and the tasks vary between the seasons.

Start date spring 2025 by agreement.
