RESPONSIBILITIES

The position requires an interest in local history and that you are both pedagogically interested and enjoy development work.

As a museum educator, you will design and conduct school visits and market the activities to schools and preschools. You will also develop the educational programs of Motala museums.

Motala municipality is currently working on a new industrial museum, and part of the position involves working on the educational development of this, in consultation with various focus groups. The position also involves some administrative tasks.

Motala museums consist of four venues: Charlottenborg Castle focusing on the Stone Age, the 17th century, and Jungfru Isberg's carvings, the Swedish Radio Museum focusing on the radio's history 1927-70, Museum Apartments telling the story of the workers at Motala Workshop, and the new Motala Industrial Museum.

You will plan, implement, and evaluate holiday activities and other events. You take your own initiatives, adapt to the situation, and are good at building long-term relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have a university degree in culture, history, art, pedagogy, or other relevant education for the employer.

You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and of different conditions. You adapt your way of conveying the message to the recipient. You keep yourself updated in your field and work well with other people.
