Prego Södertörn

Prego Södertörn is located on the campus area of Södertörn University in Flemingsberg. The café is part of Campus by Nordrest, which also operates the restaurant Allé Elva as well as event and catering services on the premises. In our cold kitchen, we produce items such as sandwiches, salads, soups, and meal boxes that we sell in the café. In the café, we also produce simpler items like yogurt cups, overnight oats, smoothies, and pastries.

The Position

As a café host at Prego Södertörn, you play a crucial role as the daily face of our guests, ensuring they keep coming back to us! Your main tasks include the operational management of the café, such as preparing cold and hot drinks, handling cash, restocking inventory, and of course, creating a pleasant environment for our guests. If you also enjoy baking, that's a plus.

If you love meeting new people, providing them with a pleasant food and drink break, and are meticulous and responsible, then this job is for you.

To Successfully Thrive in the Role

At our café, we are responsible, cheerful, and engaged, and we want you to be too. You enjoy taking initiative but have no problem collaborating in a team. We like to have fun at work and together create a pleasant work environment, and we hope this resonates with you too. You need to be able to work at a fast pace, have an overview, and see what needs to be prioritized. All communication with us, both spoken and written, is in Swedish. You are positive, social, enjoy interacting with our guests and your colleagues. Of course, you always aim to exceed our guests' expectations and are comfortable with our values: being available, pleasantly surprising, and spreading joy.

We want you to understand the importance of having a holistic view of the business and that you have no problem assisting with all tasks at the unit.

Applicants should have a strong interest and preferably experience in sustainability work, as the restaurant is environmentally and quality certified according to ISO9001 and ISO 14001. We continuously work on our environmental efforts and collaborate with partners such as Panter to reduce the use of disposable materials and Too Good to Go to minimize food waste.

Regardless of your background, your personality matters a lot, and we believe that your attitude is crucial to whether you will thrive.

But we would like you to have:

  • Completed high school education.
  • Previous work experience.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish both spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Barista training

The position is initially a 90% substitute but will be gradually reduced as our regular employee gradually returns to the business. You will work on weekdays and have weekends off.

We intend to start the selection process after Christmas Eve and schedule interviews continuously, so do not hesitate to apply.
