Geologist for the Västlänken Project

About the Role

We are seeking a geologist to strengthen our geological team within the Västlänken Project. As a mapping geologist, you will work on geological monitoring in our rock tunnels and rock cuts. Your working hours follow the contractor's operations, which means work around the clock, including nighttime. The work is carried out in accordance with Swedish working hours legislation with the possibility of shift work.

Main Responsibilities:

• Continuously map the rock to provide a basis for reinforcement in tunnels and rock cuts.
• Suggest rock reinforcement in collaboration with coordinating geologists or others in the Berg technical area.
• Participate in forecasting, evaluation, and rock monitoring activities.
• Perform core mapping.
• Document and save mapping according to prescribed procedures and contribute to relationship and management documents.
• Work on geological monitoring on all contracts within the project, with a focus on Korsvägen and Haga.

You will be part of a team where it is crucial that the geological mapping is done uniformly and provides valuable information for the project's success.

Profile Requirements

To succeed in the role, you need to meet the following requirements:

1. University degree in geology (B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D.) or rock engineering/engineering geology equivalent to a Bachelor of Science.
2. At least 5 years of experience in rock engineering within design, inspection, or construction.
3. At least 1 year of experience in tunnel mapping in the production phase using the Q-system.
4. At least 1 year of experience in entering geological or rock mechanical information into databases.
5. Experience in data collection for digital photogrammetry in the production phase.
6. Experience with rock mechanics analysis programs such as Rocscience or equivalent.
7. Good knowledge of the Office package.
8. Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
9. Basic knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
