What we offer
Your commitment will make a difference. Do you find it exciting and developing to work in an environment where a lot is happening? Do you want to be in a department where you get the opportunity to learn new tasks and where the focus is on finding possible solutions instead of problems? Then the job as a Maintenance Mechanic might be right for you.
At Volvo Cars Body Components (VCBC) in Olofström, we produce and deliver body components to Volvo’s various facilities around the world. The main process at VCBC is sheet metal stamping.
The Machine Maintenance department in the Upper factory consists of 60 employees whose main tasks involve performing preventive and corrective maintenance on our stamping park. We are now looking for mechanics for our weekend shift.
What you will perform
As a mechanic, you will primarily work to ensure the operational reliability of the presses and the associated mechanization equipment through the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance. The tasks also include analysis work regarding technical disturbances, participation in continuous improvement work, and renovation work. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the customer (production) and several networks in the field.
You and your skills
- High school education or equivalent, with a focus on industrial technology or similar.
- Approved grades in mathematics (A/1), Swedish/Swedish as a second language (A/1), English (A/5), social studies (A/1) or equivalent years of professional experience.
- Experience from work in production and/or maintenance - mechanics.
- General IT skills.
- Knowledge of the English language.
To thrive in the role, you have a genuine interest in technology and see solutions rather than problems in situations that arise. You are quality-conscious and interested in improvement work. You enjoy when things happen and can easily adjust planned work when unforeseen events occur. You like to stay updated and develop yourself, but an equally important aspect for you is to share your newfound knowledge with others.
As a person, you take responsibility, make things happen, are proactive, and have a quality focus in your work. You enjoy collaborating with others and create long-term relationships by showing trust, respect, and confidence in your colleagues. At Volvo, we work in teams and build our strength and success on solving problems together as a group.
