Production Planner at Mälarenergi

Your Role

As a Production Planner, you will work on planning and following up the daily production of heat and electricity. This means analyzing conditions, optimizing production plans based on operational status, electricity market, and ancillary services, as well as providing input to the rest of the organization. You will also follow up and evaluate how well the plan is adhered to and what improvements can be made for the future.

Your tasks will include:

• Daily planning of heat and electricity production in combined heat and power plants and other production facilities
• Analysis of electricity market prices and production costs
• Close collaboration with operations, maintenance, and business development
• Development of planning tools and methods
• Follow-up and reporting of operational and production data

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone with an engineering degree in energy, electrical power, or another relevant field, or you have acquired equivalent knowledge during your career. You have a genuine interest in energy systems and preferably previous experience in production planning, power trading, or production within the energy sector. Familiarity with the structure of the electricity market (e.g., spot prices, ancillary services, capacity markets) is an advantage.

We believe you are analytical, curious, and have an easy time seeing the big picture. You enjoy collaborating and sharing knowledge, but you can also work independently and drive issues forward.

You will be part of the Production Support unit under Production. Production Support consists of three groups: Permits, Chemistry, and Production Planning – we are a total of 13 employees. In the Production Planning group, we currently have two production planners working with daily operational follow-up and planning of electricity and heat production.
