We are currently looking for a Thermal Research Engineer for our Engineering lab at our client's Stockholm office, to take on the challenge to research, design, and implement our future thermal solutions. This will involve driving internal research projects as well as handling external research cooperation projects with top European universities.

The position will have path-finding responsibility; to identify, innovate, and implement the key technologies that will solve future thermal challenges within the Huawei ICT product portfolio.

Essential Skills required: (as many as possible from the list below):

We expect the candidate to:

-have solid experience in academic research applicable to thermal design of cooling for electronics

-have excellent knowledge in heat and mass transfer; theories behind natural convection, forced convection, and two-phase phenomena

-be a recognized part of an extensive network with researchers; in academia and/or within the thermal industry research community

-have solid experience of research activities (not product design) within the area of thermal design.

-have a general understanding of industrial research in cooling of electronics

-have a general understanding of the capabilities of CFD programs like: Ice Pack, Fluent, and especially Comsol and Flotherm

We require a PhD in heat and mass transfer, physics, mechanical engineering, or equivalent background and expect that the candidate has some academic research experience after the PhD.

We also expect an understanding of the comparison of various thermal solutions from both cost and functionality perspectives.

The candidate can of course communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
