JOB DESCRIPTION

Psychologist in Skolfam. Skolfam is a work model aimed at strengthening academic results for children placed in foster care. Skolfam in Gothenburg is a collaboration between the Primary School Administration and the Social Services. For more information about the work model, see www.skolfam.se (http://www.skolfam.se).

Skolfam in the Primary School Administration currently has 24 employees consisting of psychologists and special educators. They work closely with social workers from the city's four social services.

We are looking for a psychologist who wants to work cross-professionally with belonging to a group of psychologists and special educators where there is high competence and great commitment. We offer you a stimulating and varied assignment where your skills and experiences are significant. You will be employed as a psychologist in the Skolfam unit in the Primary School Administration, but the physical workplace is largely located at one or more of the city's social services offices.

Job Responsibilities

As a psychologist in Skolfam, you work in a team around each child together with a special educator, the child's social worker, and the responsible foster care worker. In Skolfam, we work systematically to increase the child's participation, but the tasks mainly involve working with the adults around the children. The team's mission is to work together with school staff and foster parents to make the school experience of children placed in foster care as successful as possible.

You will work with a special educator colleague to conduct assessments and analyses of the child's cognitive and academic abilities as well as mental health. The assessment from the mapping is used as a basis to identify the child's strengths and any support needs. The child's development is followed up at regular meetings throughout their primary school years, where the Skolfam team, school, and foster home participate. You will be responsible for coordinating, leading, and establishing documents and plans related to investigations and follow-up meetings.

Follow-up meetings are mostly conducted digitally. Therefore, you need to be comfortable using video calls as a tool and see opportunities to work on relationship-building in these meeting formats.

You will also have physical meetings both within and outside the municipality. The work may occasionally involve travel outside of office hours and overnight stays. For car trips, we use the city's vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements: We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist and has experience with psychological assessments, testing situations, and subsequent analysis. It is a requirement that you communicate well in Swedish in both speech and writing and are comfortable using digital tools in your daily work. Driving experience and a driver's license (B) are also required for the position.

Meritorious: It is meritorious if you have experience working in schools, consultation, leading meetings, and knowledge of how trauma affects children's development.

Personal Competencies: To thrive in the role of psychologist in Skolfam, it is important that you are flexible and can plan, organize, and coordinate.
