Vete-Katten was founded in 1928 by Ester Nordhammar and, according to legend, got its name when the first owner replied "Det vete katten" (translated: 'I don't know') to the question of what the establishment should be called.

Since September 2012, Vete-Katten has been run by new owners, including Johan Sandelin Järnåsen as one of the partners.

Today, Vete-Katten consists of a bakery, a pastry shop, chocolate production, and a cold kitchen.

All of us at Vete-Katten strive to produce as much as possible from scratch, using the best ingredients the market has to offer.

The premises now include not only the traditional coffee rooms and courtyard but also the new bread shop and serving area facing Kungsgatan.

The guiding principles for the wide range of products that Vete-Katten offers are the highest quality and authentic ingredients.

The rich selection includes both classic and modern breads and pastries.

We are now looking for you, a pastry chef with knowledge, ambition, and a sense of responsibility.

The pastry chef we are looking for should always have the desire to take us a step further, meaning you should have a good education and documented experience.

You will work alongside our pastry chefs to produce first-class pastries for our store on Kungsgatan and our 7 shops around the city. We are now looking for you, a pastry chef with knowledge, ambition, and a sense of responsibility.
