Do you want to contribute to our development and be part of the airports of the future? We at Visby Airport are now looking for an electrician with an interest in management assignments within electrical and power facilities. Changes are underway at the airport with the replacement and upgrading of the entire high voltage, backup power facility, and we are seeing an exciting development in electric aviation. What does the role entail? As part of the Operations and Maintenance department, you will be an important person in the team that ensures the airport's infrastructure functions as it should – every day, all year round. Together with engaged colleagues in property, ground, vehicles, electrical, and technology, you will work as one of two operational specialists in electrical/power.

In your role, you will have a particular focus on the management of the airport's power supply as well as the aviation-related facilities, such as runway lights, ground power units, and aircraft heaters.

Examples of tasks:

  • Lead and perform operation and maintenance work together with contractors
  • Conduct inspections and technical audits
  • Participate in development projects and follow up on energy goals and finances
  • Establish maintenance plans and plan interventions in our maintenance system

Who are you? We are looking for someone who is an electrician, preferably with experience in switchgear and high voltage facilities or operational complex equipment, and has a good safety awareness. 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Electrical engineering education at least at the high school level
  • Good understanding and experience of regulations regarding electrical safety
  • Basic knowledge of construction documents, drawings, and in some cases regulations and interpretation of these
  • Driver's license B to flexibly move around the airport and outside if needed
  • Good skills in spoken and written Swedish and English to read regulations and manuals

Meritorious with: 

  • ESA trained
  • In-depth knowledge/experience in electrical safety work and self-monitoring programs
  • Authorization, A or AL
  • Work with airport-related systems
  • Work in backup power and/or high voltage facilities
  • Experience with business systems, we work in IFS
