to apply for the job
In the city of Mölndal, we are proud to have Sweden's most important jobs where we together create the best possible everyday life for our citizens. With knowledge, courage, and creativity, we develop our operations and contribute to making Mölndal an even better place to live and work. Welcome to make a difference in people's everyday lives every day!
As part of the Gothenburg region, the city of Mölndal is in an exciting and expansive phase. This leads to a high demand for buildable land and sustainable planning. The Urban Planning Administration's land and development unit is responsible for the city's property ownership, contract negotiations, plan implementation, and the city's development budget.
There are many interesting and exciting tasks within the administration, including the development of Lunnagården, Campus Mölndal, and the district of Pedagogen Park. The development of Mölndal's city center continues, and Lindome and Kållered are developing with both logistics and residential areas. Our new comprehensive plan “The Future Mölndal, comprehensive plan for Mölndal municipality” was adopted in 2023, and now the work continues with deepening in both Lindome and Åby/Åbro and Västra Balltorp. The project Railway in Mölndal (new main lines Gothenburg-Borås) includes work on the development of the area around, among others, the Lackarebäck area as well as detailed plans along the route to enable both urban development and railway expansion.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a project manager who is passionate about urban development issues. You will be part of the land and development unit, which currently consists of 9 employees and a unit manager. Your workplace is characterized by an open atmosphere, with a wonderful work climate where we help each other and work without prestige. We work in a creative environment with close collaboration with our politicians, citizens, and internal administrations as well as external collaborations with developers and authorities.
In your role as a project manager, you will primarily work with large urban development projects, where you will have the opportunity to drive the projects from start to finish. In the projects, you have overall responsibility throughout the development process (pre-study, detailed planning, and expansion) with a focus on the feasibility of the projects. Your role is to drive the projects forward on behalf of the city in close collaboration with the city's various administrations and external construction companies. Your tasks include steering and following up on projects against set goals, budgets, and timelines. You should be able to prepare materials for investigations, agreements, financial analyses, and implementation planning. The work also involves negotiations and the establishment of contract proposals in connection with the purchase and sale of properties.
In addition to project management, other tasks include representing the city as a landowner and being the representative of the Urban Planning Administration in municipal and regional projects where you, in a curious and engaging way, drive strategic community development issues for the city of Mölndal.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in urban development and several years of experience in land and development operations, land surveying, or equivalent. You have a university or college degree in land surveying, urban planning, or equivalent. The position requires good knowledge of legislation in the field, experience in a project management role, and experience in larger urban development projects within municipal or private operations. Experience in infrastructure projects is an advantage. Experience from a politically governed organization, especially planning processes within this, and operational development as well as competence in project economics are also advantageous.
We place great importance on personal qualities and are looking for someone with well-developed social skills who thrives in interaction with both internal and external actors. You are positive about changes and new challenges, create good relationships and contacts, and are a skilled negotiator. You have a strong sense of responsibility, dare to make your own decisions, and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You are used to driving issues independently but also have good collaboration skills. You have an easy time expressing yourself in speech and writing. We want you to have a B driver's license.
Selection is ongoing.
