Description

As a Controller, you will play a central role in our operations.

To fit in with us in the small municipality, it is important that you are open and flexible to help when the operations or colleagues need assistance.

Essunga municipality has a central finance department consisting of seven employees who together manage the municipality's financial administration. The group consists of a finance manager, an accounting manager, three controllers, and two finance assistants. One of our controllers will be leaving in the summer of 2025, and we are now looking for her successor.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone interested in working with financial management within public administration. You have the ability to communicate pedagogically and can adapt your communication according to the recipient and situation. The role also includes contributing to the internal development work of the finance department and overarching administrative tasks.

Your responsibilities include:

• Driving and leading the work with budgets, follow-ups, and financial reporting within your area of responsibility
• Participating in various project groups, developing analyses, and contributing financial knowledge
• Being a good support for managers, where you communicatively assist them and provide guidance within your areas.

Qualifications

We are looking for an economist with a university degree or equivalent competence. You are analytical, service-oriented, and pedagogical. You will have many points of contact in your role as a controller, which places high demands on good collaboration skills. We also see that you have the ability to view the operations from a holistic perspective based on what is best for the municipality as a whole.

We would prefer if you have experience from operations within the social services sector and staffing economics. Personal suitability and how your profile complements the workgroup will be important factors in the recruitment. Experience of similar tasks within public operations is an advantage.
