Furuboda Assistans is a private assistance provider in southern Sweden with roots in the non-profit Furuboda Association. The company was established in 2005 and is a growing business. About the assignment
Furuboda Assistans is looking for a personal assistant for a cheerful 12-year-old girl in Lund. The girl has cerebral palsy, which makes it difficult for her with fine, gross, and oral motor skills. She has no intellectual disabilities. The girl does not have verbal speech but communicates using TAKK, signs as alternative and supplementary communication. This means that the girl signs and you interpret. For example, at the dining table, you interpret her by saying what she signs. She is hearing, which means she understands verbal speech. It is desirable if you have experience with sign language; otherwise, there is an opportunity for training. In addition to TAKK, she also communicates with an eye-controlled computer with speech synthesis.
Otherwise, she is a smart and happy girl who enjoys doing things like watching movies, reading, going on outings, and participating in recreational activities. The girl loves to swim, so it is important that you are a good swimmer and safe in the water.
The girl lives in Lund with her mom, dad, and cats. Therefore, it is important that you are not allergic to pets.
A driver's license is preferred but not required.
We are looking for a responsible person who still has a childlike spirit. It is important to have great patience and be engaged in helping the girl in her daily life. It is also appreciated if you, as an assistant, take the initiative to come up with activities and outings.
We are looking for a personal assistant to work at just over 75% with the possibility of increasing hours as needed and during colleagues' sick leave/vacation. You will work at home and at school, and support recreational activities, with some evening shifts and every other weekend during the day. We are also looking for substitutes.
