Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced systems engineer for an exciting assignment with our client in the defense and aerospace industry. You will be a key player in the development of safety-critical solutions for autonomous flight, working at the forefront of technology.

About the assignment

As a consultant with our client, you will belong to a section responsible for the development of autonomous flight systems – from manned to unmanned vehicles. You will work on features such as autonomous takeoff and landing, collision avoidance, and contingency management.

Key Responsibilities:

Your main tasks will include:

• Analysis of system requirements
• System architecture and design, including algorithm development
• System safety analyses
• Integration and testing in simulators, test rigs, and flying platforms
• Design and coordination of verification and validation strategies
• Coordination of verification efforts across disciplines such as HW/SW/System
• Documentation of requirement coverage, test results, and flight tests

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• A Master's degree in engineering physics, aerospace engineering, computational mathematics, or equivalent
• Several years of experience in system development or systems engineering
• Strong understanding of flight dynamics
• Interest in mathematics and algorithm development (e.g., linear algebra, differential equations, numerical analysis)
• Ability to work in a structured manner and collaborate cross-functionally
• A drive and responsibility to solve complex technical challenges

Meritorious:

• Experience in software architecture and programming
• Experience from autonomous systems or safety-critical environments
