At the Surgical Outpatient Clinic, we primarily investigate and treat patients with tumor diseases and trauma. The clinic is divided into four sections: upper gastro, colorectal, breast and endocrine, as well as acute and trauma. The outpatient operations are an integrated part of the sections' work as our patients are cared for in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

The surgical area has a close collaboration between the three hospitals in the county. The area has a county mission for acute and planned surgical healthcare, and we also provide some highly specialized care for out-of-county patients. There are 350 employees across various units such as outpatient clinics, wards, surgery, and secretariat. Planned healthcare is increasingly located in Karlskoga and Lindesberg, while tumor and trauma operations are located in Örebro. Within the area, active development work is carried out with a focus on the patient throughout the care process.

Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three acute hospitals where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the highest category for medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, as well as in avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. Nurse for Surgical Outpatient Clinic USÖ

Here you will have a varied and developing job where you work closely with patients alongside other professionals. You will also work as a contact nurse in the team. We strive to always have a well-functioning collaboration where a good working environment, quality, and patient safety are in focus.

Our daily work is stimulating with many different tasks, and the workgroup is divided into sections. You will work closely with nursing assistants and doctors at the clinic. As a nurse, you will also have independent outpatient visits, participate in MDK rounds, and in SVF clinics. The work also includes providing advice via phone and 1177.

If you are a licensed nurse who focuses on the patient and at the same time wants to develop your own skills, the Surgical Department is the right place for you. We prefer that you have previous experience in outpatient work, and prior experience in surgery is seen as an advantage.
