BUP outpatient care is tasked with diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents up to 18 years old in all municipalities of the county. The outpatient care consists of two units, BUP 1 and BUP 2. In total, we are about 70 employees with various competencies: nurses, doctors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, special educators, caregivers, and medical administrative staff. Daily work is carried out in close collaboration between the units and professions. Our workplace is located in nice premises in Örebro city center, and we have a good working climate with high ceilings!

Child and adolescent psychiatry is part of specialized psychiatric care. The operations include outpatient clinics, enhanced outpatient care, and an inpatient ward with emergency services. A contact center for children and young people with mental health issues is also part of the operations, tasked with providing advice, making assessments, and triaging/sorting to the appropriate level of care. We work with treatment both individually and in groups, as well as with both planned and emergency visits and telephone advice. We also offer psychoeducational treatment interventions to patients and relatives. Together, we are around 150 employees working with common processes and goals. We work in multiprofessional teams based on a holistic view of the individual and adapt our care interventions to the patient's needs and circumstances. We strive to promote the child's mental health and development, as well as the involvement of relatives in care.

Nurse for Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Outpatient Care (BUP)

The job responsibilities include outpatient patient work and medication follow-ups in both physical and digital meetings. As a nurse, the primary patient group consists of our children and adolescents with ADHD diagnosis and medication for this, although other medical conditions and medications are also involved. The work also consists of contacts with relatives and care neighbors. We collaborate with schools, social services, and other operations within health and medical care.

The work is varied, challenging, and fun.
