Description

Komvux Karlstad is part of the adult education department and conducts activities within Swedish for immigrants (SFI), Komvux as adapted education, theoretical courses at basic and upper secondary levels, as well as vocational, apprenticeship, and combination training.

In adult education, we work to develop our students' knowledge and skills to strengthen their position in working and social life, as well as to promote their personal development.

Qualifications

Are you interested in teaching in municipal adult education?

We are looking for you who are a qualified mathematics teacher with the authority to teach courses at the upper secondary level in combination with one of the following subjects: physics, natural science, chemistry, or biology.

Your basic view is characterized by seeing opportunities and you have a positive attitude towards people. You who apply have good pedagogical skills and can inspire and engage students in learning, as well as seeing opportunities to vary your teaching based on students' needs. You also have a genuine interest in working with people from different cultural backgrounds.

To succeed in the role, you are clear and good at creating and maintaining good relationships.

In your professional role, you are secure, clear, responsible, structured, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You meet students and colleagues with good ethics and sound values.

You are comfortable working with digital systems and see digital tools as a given in the job.

Responsibilities

Teaching and mentoring at the upper secondary level as well as assessments. Courses in adult education are offered in varied study forms such as classroom teaching and flexible teaching. The courses have a study pace of 10 or 20 weeks. In adult education, we have 5 course starts during a calendar year.

Participating in team work and the unit's development work.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
