Job Description
Vossloh is the leading supplier in the Nordic region and one of the world's leading companies with comprehensive expertise in everything related to modern track technology! We at Vossloh are now looking for a Production Engineer/Flow Planner responsible for flow and LEAN implementation for our operations in Örebro. Do you want to help build a new, smart, and sustainable production from the ground up? We at Vossloh Nordic Switch Systems AB are looking for an experienced and committed person for our new factory currently being built between Kumla and Hallsberg. We are looking for someone who wants to take responsibility for creating a balanced and paced production flow – where LEAN is not just a term, but the foundation we stand on. This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the start and shape the development of an efficient and sustainable production.
Vossloh is in a favorable position with strong demand for the company's products. The railway industry is facing significant investments and is seen as a future industry in the pursuit of achieving climate-neutral transport. This, combined with long customer contracts, creates job security. Vossloh is at the forefront of safety work and has been working for a long time with LEAN manufacturing. Our latest employee survey shows that what is most appreciated in the workplace is the pleasant environment, friendly colleagues, and good leadership. Vossloh is described by employees as a caring employer with a strong sense of social responsibility where sustainability is at the center. We can offer a professional workplace characterized by sound values, friendly colleagues, and appreciated leadership. We value the ability to combine work with family and have a flexible work climate.
Responsibilities
You will start your work as a Production Engineer, replacing the regular technician who will go on parental leave. In this way, we believe you can naturally learn how we and our operations function today and what is needed when the new factory starts up. You will work in a team of 3–4 people with different positions, and together you will ensure that production runs according to plan. You strive for a stable and well-functioning process where each shift builds on the previous one.
At the beginning of your assignment, you will
- Purchase consumables for the machinery
- Schedule external service and maintenance and ensure that corrective and preventive maintenance is carried out according to plan
- Support and drive safety-related matters; you are an important person in the local safety team
The role will evolve into a Flow Planner. In the role of Flow Planner, you will be responsible for implementing and driving our production philosophy with single-piece flow in collaboration with production and shift management. You will work closely with operators, quality engineers, and other functions to ensure that production is balanced, standardized, and continuously improved. Once you have gained a good insight into the operations, you will have the opportunity to grow into the role of Flow Planner focusing on the following tasks:
- Lead and train staff in single-piece flow and LEAN principles and ensure that takt times are set and maintained throughout the production flow
- Follow up on daily results; did we build according to plan? Did we deliver the planned number of modules? If not, you identify causes and take action together with others in the team
- Collaborate with operators, shift leaders, and flow leaders to distribute work tasks and optimize flow between stations
- Design and implement Standard Works for each position in production
- Work closely with shift leaders to ensure that the flow remains stable even during evening or night shifts
- Participate in gemba meetings focusing on delivery, productivity, and continuous improvements
- Collaborate with quality and safety teams to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
About the position:
- Working hours are Monday-Friday approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with flexibility; in the long term, working hours may become shift-based
- Vossloh will move its production from Örebro to Kumla in 2026
- In this recruitment, we are collaborating with Randstad, where Linda Cooper answers questions regarding the position, linda.cooper@randstad.se
Qualifications
- Experience from the automotive industry or similar manufacturing
- Knowledge of LEAN, single-piece flow, and production optimization, as well as the ability to analyze and balance flows and implement improvements
- Strong leadership skills and experience in training and coaching production staff
- Structured working method and experience in following up and ensuring results
- Understanding of Standard Works and experience in creating and implementing them together with experienced operators
- Good communication and collaboration skills as you work with multiple functions; you should enjoy interacting with staff to help everyone see their contribution and the important role they play
We offer
- The opportunity to be a key person in the startup of our new factory and influence the standards for our production
- A dynamic work environment with significant influence and development opportunities in an engaged team where we together create our way of working
- A culture characterized by LEAN, improvement work, and collaboration in an international group where knowledge exchange often occurs between units
