Your Role

Underwater Systems develops and produces unmanned and autonomous underwater vehicles with the mission to monitor, secure, and perform tasks in the marine environment. We are growing and are now starting to establish an electronics section in Karlskoga. Therefore, we are looking for experienced systems engineers in electrical and electronics who want to help build a new team in electronics. Here, you will have the opportunity to put your own stamp on the business while working in established cross-functional teams.

You will work with our underwater products that contain advanced technology and are often market leaders in their segment. In the role of systems engineer, you will have a key position in our projects where you are responsible for seeing the big picture, analyzing customer needs, and transforming them into clear technical specifications that guide the development work. You will handle requirements, document system solutions, and ensure that the development process follows set goals. The work spans several technical areas with many internal contact points, and you will also have support from well-established processes and method descriptions.

Your main tasks include:

• Developing and defining system architecture and advanced system descriptions
• Working with requirements management, requirement breakdown, and producing technical specifications
• Creating system documentation, including block diagrams, drawings, and documents
• Designing overall electrical wiring diagrams

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is driven to solve complex problems and thrives in collaborations where your knowledge makes a difference. You have broad experience from various disciplines within development and are structured, meticulous, and see the importance of clear requirements and specifications. The role suits you if you want to contribute to technical solutions with real societal benefits and help shape solutions used in demanding underwater environments.

We believe you have:

• A degree in electrical engineering, electronics, power engineering, technical physics, or equivalent
• Several years of experience in similar roles
• Experience working with system architecture and requirements management in larger projects
• Good knowledge of English and Swedish

Desirable experiences:

• Use of graphical tools for system description
• Knowledge in power electronics, high-voltage systems, electrical drive systems, motor control, and/or battery systems for large vehicles
• Previous experience in electrical design
• Experience in roles that involve some form of leadership, such as team leader, project manager, or mentor

The work location is Karlskoga, but travel to other locations and facilities, both in Sweden and abroad, occurs and is particularly common at the beginning of employment.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
