Our Operations

The Medical Products Agency has a range of responsibilities and collaborates both nationally and within the EU, with both authorities and other organizations. In an increasingly interconnected society, this presents many exciting challenges in the architecture area. Furthermore, the Medical Products Agency has hundreds of business applications, a large portion of which are developed in-house, and a continuous project portfolio with 15-20 ongoing projects and feasibility studies driving changes in the system landscape.

The IT unit at the Medical Products Agency consists of about 100 dedicated employees with various backgrounds and skills who together take a comprehensive approach to the agency's IT needs. We are located in bright and open offices at Uppsala Science Park, close to nature and a short walk to the city center.

Your Responsibilities

• Work on defining new or changed IT system solutions within the framework of projects and management assignments.
• Be responsible for identifying architecture-driving requirements within various initiatives and identifying, describing, and evaluating alternative IT solutions from different perspectives.
• Participate and guide in the implementation or procurement of system solutions. The work is usually carried out in close collaboration with various employees within both core operations and IT.
• Evaluate and describe how changes in IT solutions affect users and other systems. This is especially relevant in matters of integrations and changes that span multiple system parts or systems of systems.
• Document and visualize the agency's IT architecture and participate in risk and impact analyses.
• Provide support to system owners in various strategic matters.
• Work together with a dozen skilled architects in various line assignments, such as developing overarching architecture principles and guidelines, standards, and target images to develop and maintain a good architecture structure.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education in computer science, engineering, or natural sciences, or equivalent work experience, who has worked for a few years as a software architect or solution architect in a complex IT environment.

You also have:

• Good competence and experience in system development and system integrations.
• Experience in identifying suitable technologies, design patterns, and integration methods to create a successful solution.
• Good understanding of how IT solutions enable a high level of information and IT security.
• Good understanding and skills in information and process modeling.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English.

Preferred qualifications include experience in:

• Work in the health sector, life sciences, and/or public administration
• Integrations via HL7 FHIR
• IT security work according to ISO 27001/2, NIS2, Data Protection Regulation
• Procurement of systems according to the Public Procurement Act (LOU)
