Nurse to the Psychiatric Clinic in Umeå

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is Norrland's largest psychiatric clinic with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units.

The Psychiatric Clinic works for equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience.

We are looking for a nurse with an interest in psychiatric care for ward 2, which is a general psychiatric ward with acute admissions for patients with psychotic disorders, affective diagnoses, and patients over 60 years old.

The ward has 16 beds and cares for both HSL and LPT patients. On ward 2, we work with person-centered care, focusing on the development and improvement of the care environment, nursing, and inpatient treatment measures for the patient groups we meet.

Within inpatient care, collaboration is essential, and it may occur that patients from other departments within Psychiatry have their care placement on the ward.

On the ward, doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants work together. We work in teams around the patient and have close cooperation within the clinic, as well as with care neighbors. Common partners include relatives, outpatient care, social psychiatry, and administrative law.

As a nurse at the psychiatric clinic, there are opportunities to pursue specialist training, internal and external education, or to work in cross-clinic assignments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.

The work as a nurse with us involves, among other things, collaborating with your team colleagues to map and identify specific nursing needs for individual patients and based on that, plan the nursing team's acute interventions and actions as well as evaluate these.

You will also be involved in designing, implementing, and evaluating specific nursing strategies and, in dialogue with doctors, develop tailored treatment plans, work motivationally with various types of educational strategies, and carry out summaries and evaluations of these interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS

If you have previously worked in psychiatric care and/or round-the-clock care, we consider it an advantage.

You have a genuine interest in meeting people with psychiatric diagnoses in their treatment, care, and daily life. You are a present and warm person who, with knowledge and care, contributes to a holistic view that makes the care process better and safer. You find it important to provide a good reception and can communicate clearly with both colleagues and patients and adapt to different situations.

Great importance is placed on suitability.
