Job Advertisement: Service Resource in Elderly Care

The elderly care in Umeå municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

Solgården's care and nursing home is centrally located in Hörnefors, about 30 km south of Umeå, close to both the center and green areas. Solgården has a total of 32 apartments distributed over 2 units. Each unit has common areas for meals, conversations, and activities. Exhibitions by local associations contribute to a good indoor environment. The residence also has a beautiful courtyard with fruit trees and berry bushes. Large terraces, balconies, and small pathways provide opportunities for pleasant outdoor stays.

To allow our nursing staff to focus more on care, we are now looking for someone interested in working with the surrounding tasks that also exist in our care and nursing homes.

Your Responsibilities

• Waste management: Collect trash from the departments to the waste room. (Occurs at least 2 times per day/unit)
• Goods handling: Receive food supplies, sort, and distribute to the units.
• Mail distribution: Deliver mail and newspapers to the residents.
• During meals, fetch food carts to the units and then return food carts to the goods intake. (Lunch and dinner for each unit).
• Cleaning: Clean residents' rooms, laundry room, office, and kitchen in the staff room.
• Laundry: Wash residents' clothes and staff clothes.
• Handle staff clothes: Distribute clothes to new employees.
• Handle certain urgent outdoor tasks, e.g., snow removal to allow for goods intake and emptying of the waste container.
• Take care of outdoor furniture, bringing them in and out, as well as taking out flower boxes.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience working in elderly care. The role of service resource is an active job where lifting and transfers occur daily, requiring good physical fitness to manage the tasks. If you have training as a service resource, it is an advantage.

As a person, you have the ability to prioritize and work independently while being meticulous in your work. You enjoy having contact with people during your workday and find it easy to collaborate with others. To communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language.
