Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a special education teacher for Kroksbäck School's adapted primary school!

You will work as a class teacher (mentor) in our adapted primary school in a secondary class that studies according to subject orientation. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational work based on the school's governing documents and the students' needs and interests, both individually and together with the team you belong to. The teachers have good meeting structures for co-planning and collegial development. You will collaborate with other school staff to create a good learning and working environment for both students and staff and actively participate in the school's development work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed primary school teacher and has a special education degree with a focus on intellectual disabilities. It is an advantage if you have experience working as a special education teacher. Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities (ID) is a requirement. If you have experience working in an adapted primary school, we see it as an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have experience with alternative teaching tools such as TAKK and working with visual support.

You have a good knowledge of the school's governing documents and apply them in your daily work. You are creative and can adapt your approach and pedagogical methods based on the individual student's needs or the needs of the student group.

You develop the educational activities to be both fun, inspiring, and challenging. We expect you to see each student from a holistic perspective and have a positive view of students. You create good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You have good computer skills and experience using IT in your teaching.

As a person, you are calm, stable, and attentive, with the ability to create a safe environment for the students. You are used to working independently and making decisions, but you can also collaborate in a team. Working with our students means that no day is the same. The day's condition determines which demands and activities are suitable. Therefore, you need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt your working methods according to the needs of the organization.

It is necessary that you master good Swedish in both spoken and written form.
