Teaching Position in Home Economics and Social Studies

We are Snapphaneskolan, a school for grades 4-9 in Knislinge. Our vision is: We strive towards the same goal - to have safe, motivated, responsible, and educated students. We see all students as everyone's students!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will teach grades 6-9 in home economics. This will take place in smaller groups in this subject. The position also includes teaching classes in grades 7-9 in social studies.

We have a wonderful staff where different professions such as teachers, special educators, special teachers, social pedagogues, and others are represented. We have a student health team that meets every week, including the principal, vice principal, school psychologist, school nurse, school counselor, special educator, special teacher, and social pedagogues. Everyone, except our school psychologist, is also stationed at our school and is therefore a natural part of the daily operations. In addition to the professions mentioned above, there are also administrators, career counselors, and custodians at the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a dedicated primary school teacher with certification and subject qualifications to teach home economics for grades 6-9 and a social studies subject for grades 7-9. Experience teaching grades 4-9 and broader subject qualifications are considered advantageous.

As a teacher with us, it is a requirement that you are well-versed in the ethical principles for teachers and the curriculum for primary schools. You should be able to implement this in practice and have experience with systematic quality work, which we highly value. We are looking for someone with strong didactic skills, who can inspire students and adapt teaching to their individual circumstances and needs.

You, as an applicant, have good self-awareness, high personal maturity, and the ability to take clear and secure leadership both in and out of the classroom. You are calm and methodical in your work, even in changing situations, and have the ability to independently structure, plan, and prioritize your tasks. Working in teams and contributing to collegial learning is something you highly value.

We are looking for a responsible and attentive person with good communication skills and a professional demeanor in interactions with students, colleagues, and guardians. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and multilingualism is an advantage.

Good computer skills and the ability to use digital tools in teaching are necessary. Experience with programs like Google Classroom and other digital platforms is a plus, as we actively use technology in teaching. Students work with Chromebooks.

Before employment can be offered, a criminal record extract for schools and preschools must be presented.
