The Children and Youth Administration is responsible for Halmstad's municipal preschools, primary schools, adapted primary school, after-school care, and cultural school. Every day, about 16,000 children attend one of our activities.

About Ranagård School

Ranagård School is a newly established F-9 school located in the newly built residential area of Ranagård since autumn 2024. The school also includes an adapted primary school, a meeting place for youth after school hours, and a combined school and public library. By autumn 2025, the school will grow to about 550 students from today's approximately 430. The primary school has a close collaboration with the adapted primary school.

Working at Ranagård School means being part of a team with different roles, but where everyone is important for the final result. At Ranagård School, everyone shares the same goal - to develop an equitable and successful teaching approach in a holistic perspective from F-9. A conducive learning environment arises when we work together to develop a common view of leadership, routines, and teaching. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your work is characterized by relationship-building contacts with students individually and in groups, both in guidance and motivational work, but also as a partner and mentor to teaching colleagues in the work of broadening perspectives. Collaboration with the work teams around individual students and groups of students is particularly important. Together, all staff work to provide students with the best possible decision-making competence for the future. You will be a key figure in maintaining our schools' good results regarding eligibility for upper secondary school.

  • Lead the work with all the tasks included in your role as a study and career counselor. You will work with study and career guidance both in the narrow and broad sense from an F-9 perspective. In guidance conversations, you actively work to broaden the student's perspective on their conditions and challenge perceptions of professions and education based on gender, social, and cultural background.
  • You will have a role in the school's EHT and student health work.
  • You keep up to date with developments in society and actively work to develop the SYV role at the school. You are systematic and continuously evaluate the quality of the guidance offered to students. To thrive with us, you need to have a positive attitude, a good ability to meet people, both young and adults, and be skilled at building trusting relationships where you consider the individual child's needs and the group's possibilities.
  • You will be the school's contact person in the work with PRAO.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in study and career counseling.

Before employment, you need to demonstrate that you have the right to work, as required by the Aliens Ordinance. You do this by proving your citizenship in the EU/EES or Switzerland through a passport, national ID card, or personal certificate along with identification. If you cannot do this, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the requirement for a work permit.

If you are offered employment within the Children and Youth Administration, you are required to present a clean extract from the Police's criminal record for work within schools/preschools. The extract is free of charge and takes about 2-3 weeks for the police to process. Therefore, order in good time!
