Job Responsibilities

As a labor market secretary in the unit for work and studies for youth, you will work with young adults aged 18–29. Many of them have never entered the labor market or have been early dropouts and risk long-term unemployment, as regular social and labor market policies have proven insufficient. The work involves preparing participants for work or studies through various initiatives available at Ung Malmö, the labor market department, or the Employment Service. Individual conversations, group activities, study and labor market-oriented guidance, follow-up on internships, study visits, social training, and follow-up with partners are part of our daily work.

The labor market secretary at Ung Malmö can, if necessary, initiate multi-party meetings with other actors for individuals who need joint planning and parallelism. Multi-party meetings aim for the parties, together with the individual, to decide on activities, responsibilities between the organizations, and forms for continued collaboration. The work also includes documentation in Procapita and participating in the development work regarding the initiatives.

The role of the labor market secretary includes, among other things:

In collaboration with others; plan and implement various types of initiatives
Prepare, guide, and coach participants to become self-sufficient or make a step towards self-sufficiency
Work with both individuals and groups
Document in the Procapita database, e.g., describe and follow up on the participant's process
Plan and conduct labor market and study events
Collaborate and cooperate with other actors internally and externally, e.g., social services, the Employment Service, educational coordinators, non-profit organizations, employers in both the private and public sectors, etc.
Participate in the development work regarding the organization's initiatives and methods
Gather experiences and knowledge in the field, monitor the external environment

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

A university degree of at least 180 credits with a focus on behavioral science or social science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent
At least two years of relevant work experience
Experience in building contacts and relationships to create and maintain good relationships with various partners
Work proactively with employers
Experience working and documenting in digital tools

Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have experience from labor market initiatives in the public and/or private sector, as well as if you have worked with the target group of young adults. It is also a plus if you have experience in labor market coaching, MI, or similar methods.

It is also advantageous if you have previous experience working in public services. Additionally, you preferably have a large network within the business community, public sector, non-profit sector, etc., through previous experience. Moreover, it is advantageous if you have experience in support and matching work and have actively sought out employers to match individuals.

You express yourself well in Swedish both orally and in writing. You have good computer skills. If you have worked in Procapita before, it is an advantage.
