Case Officer for Register Maintenance in Animal Welfare

Do you want to contribute to good animal husbandry in Uppsala County? We are looking for a case officer for register maintenance within animal welfare.

The Veterinary Unit

The Veterinary Unit works with animal welfare, including routine inspections of food-producing animals, permit assessments for animal-related businesses such as dog daycare and riding schools, handling complaints from the public, veterinarians, and police about animals in distress, animal prohibition assessments, and much more. In the area of primary production, the unit conducts routine and event-driven inspections of food and feed producers, including grain growers, dairy producers, beekeepers, and berry growers. The Veterinary Unit is also responsible for the registration of these.

In addition, the unit works with pre-approval of animal barns, basic condition inspections, handling cases related to the Animal Welfare Act for dogs and cats, as well as veterinary issues such as infection control, medication, and animal by-products.

Job Responsibilities

As a case officer, you will work with register maintenance in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's Animal Welfare Control Register (DSK). You will independently update the register, verify information, contact animal keepers, correct inaccuracies, delete duplicates, and ensure that the register is as accurate as possible to facilitate the work of animal welfare case officers in the future.

The position is an intermittent employment (hourly employment) that includes 6-8 weeks of full-time work during the periods of May/June and August/September as agreed.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has studied at least one semester in agricultural-related higher education.

Experience in register maintenance is an advantage. It is particularly advantageous if you have experience with DSK and prior experience in the public sector. Experience in customer service where you have had phone contact with clients or similar is also advantageous.

As a person, you are self-sufficient and meticulous. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions and achieve results in your work. You represent the County Administrative Board in a trustworthy manner. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Conditions

The employment is a special fixed-term position with a framework agreement regarding work as agreed during the period of May/June to August/September. Work is conducted as agreed and encompasses approximately 6-8 weeks of full-time work. Compensation is paid via an hourly wage of 168 SEK including vacation pay. Your job title at the authority will be case officer.

A security clearance interview will be conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) before a decision on employment is made.
