JOB DESCRIPTION

We are expanding our organization with a teacher in home economics for the adapted upper secondary school's individual program at Kungsmadskolan. The adapted upper secondary school is a 4-year program for students with intellectual disabilities (ID). The adapted upper secondary school consists of four national programs with about 70 students and an individual program with about 35 students. In the individual program, students are placed in age-integrated groups that vary in size and staff density based on the students' needs.

As a teacher in home economics, you are responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting the teaching in the subject area. Many of the students have, in addition to ID, other diagnoses, such as physical and neuropsychiatric disabilities. As a teacher in the individual program, you combine the student's development and learning with the care needs the student has, thus seeing all parts of the school day as an opportunity for development and learning. To meet the students' needs, it is important that you use a clear pedagogical approach and meet the students where they are.

You will work closely with the teaching assistants who support the students throughout their school day and regularly meet with other teachers to collaboratively develop the quality of education so that each student can progress as far as possible in their knowledge development and preparation for adult life.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for someone who is qualified to teach in the subject area of home economics at the adapted upper secondary school. A special education degree with a specialization in intellectual disabilities is qualifying in addition to the teaching degree, but even if you have not yet started your special education training, we welcome your application. We prefer that you have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, and it is also an advantage to have good knowledge of TAKK and clear pedagogical approaches. To succeed in your role as a teacher in the individual program, you need to have good collaboration skills and a strong commitment to the students you meet. You are a clear leader and confident in your professional role.
