Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you can do both. We are now looking for a Plant Operator for the Industrial division and our manufacturing operations in Örebro. At Svevia, we combine the camaraderie and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist - with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.
Your mission as a Plant Operator
In the role of Plant Operator at Svevia, you will work together with your team at one of our asphalt plants. During spring, summer, and late autumn, we produce hot asphalt in the factory, which is picked up by trucks and transported to the road. The factory is process-controlled in a PC environment from our control room, where the plant operator receives orders from customers and produces the desired asphalt. In connection with the factory, there is always one person in our modern wheel loader feeding the plant with aggregates from stockpiles, as well as more colleagues performing daily inspections in the factory, such as lubricating bearings, making adjustments, and repairs during minor operational disturbances.
For us, it is a given that all employees at the factory can perform all tasks and operations. When the cold and winter come, the asphalt season decreases to some extent, and we take the opportunity to make repairs in the factory. We offer a varied job where the different tasks in the plant operator's role make it rarely feel like one workday is like another.
You will be based at our asphalt plant in Tälle, outside Örebro. Since Svevia has several asphalt plants around the country, work at nearby asphalt plants may become relevant during temporary work peaks.
Who are you?
- We prefer that you have previous experience as a plant operator, but it is not a requirement.
- It is an advantage if you have experience in repairs.
- Experience from heavy industry, process industry, or similar is a merit but not a requirement.
- You are accustomed to working with computers.
- A valid driver's license (B) is required for this position.
- A license to operate a wheel loader is an advantage but not a requirement.
As a person, you are practical and handy. We prefer that you have practical experience in screwing and welding and are not afraid to pitch in where needed. You tackle things directly without waiting and enjoy working together in a team. You take responsibility for your part and for the whole.
Our operations are seasonal, and during the period from April to October, we have the most to do at the factory. During the early morning hours, the demand for asphalt is high, and the plant operator's ability to structure and prioritize orders is crucial for how well we succeed with production that day, and ultimately affects our customers out on the road. The work can sometimes be perceived as stressful, and to succeed in the role, you need to be able to handle stressful situations constructively.
The position is a permanent employment, with a 6-month probationary period applicable. Start date according to agreement.
Part of something bigger
Svevia's industrial division is in an expansive phase, and the ambitions are high. The goal is to be a leading player in paving in Sweden.
Behind every road, there is more than the obvious surface: a whole industry of knowledge and delivery capability. Our offering is an industrial process. From stone to finished road.
It all starts with a quarry, which then becomes aggregates, which in turn are used in the production of asphalt, which is finally laid on the road. With over 100 own quarries, our own production of asphalt, bitumen emulsion, and thermoplastics, we have a breadth that no one else has. In our laboratories, we conduct material analyses and ensure that the products meet standards and requirements. And our skilled teams in milling, paving, tank coating, and road marking ensure that the delivery is complete.
Why Svevia?
With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we care about being a workplace for everyone. The decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to make your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are created with steaming asphalt machines, large snowplows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your expertise, you can make a difference on the road. And we always prioritize safety - both with care for your own work environment and the safety of others.
For those who want to take the next step in their development, there are many opportunities. Whether you want to deepen your knowledge in your specific area or move on to a supervisory position.
Together, we make city and countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
