Our Offer WSP Bridge & Structural Engineering is now looking for a driven automation developer. The bridge automation team works closely with other bridge engineers to develop applications for producing calculations, drawings, 3D models, and other documents for bridge projects. The team has developed a couple of fully automated applications that generate documents for pipe bridges and retaining walls with just a few clicks. We have also developed the LCPro application, which automatically calculates and generates reports for LCC and LCA analyses. The tool helps designers find more climate-smart design choices early in the project phase. These applications are constantly being further developed with new features, adaptations to new standards and requirements, or bug fixes.

About the Position As an automation developer at WSP, you will play a central role in developing, designing, and quality-assuring your own code as well as providing feedback on colleagues' code. You will collaborate with other engineers in the section on various projects and be involved from idea to finished product. We work on internal projects to develop tools that can be used in many customer projects in the future, which requires close cooperation with users to ensure that they are as efficient, accurate, and user-friendly as possible.

Your tasks will include programming and testing your own and others' code, primarily in Python, but also C#/.NET.

We have a tight collaboration in the team where we together solve what needs to be done, whether it’s user interfaces, structural calculations, back-end logic, integration with CAD programs, and graphics drawing, for example.

Qualifications/Experience You need to have a degree as a civil engineer or engineering degree from a university/vocational training in:

• Civil Engineering/Construction Technology with an interest in programming or
• Data/System Science with an interest in civil engineering/construction
• Some experience in programming, e.g., in Python

Furthermore, it is advantageous if you can/have

• Experience and/or interest in UX and user interfaces, WPF
• Additional programming languages, such as C# (Csharp)
• LaTeX
• Testing: unit testing and integration testing
• Azure
• Docker
• CAD programs such as AutoCAD or Tekla
• FEM (Finite Element Methods)
• Building technology, construction, building physics, building mechanics

Who are we looking for? We are looking for you, an engineer in civil engineering who has a strong interest or knowledge in programming and development. Alternatively, you are an engineer in data and system science with a strong interest in civil engineering and construction! We believe that you, as a candidate, are outgoing, have good collaboration skills, an analytical and structured approach to work, are solution-oriented, and have the ability to work in project form. A good ability to document and report completed work both orally and in writing is a requirement. The working language varies between Swedish and English, so you should be proficient in both spoken and written. To succeed in the role, we also believe that you have the ability to be flexible, creative, and responsible. Furthermore, you are engaged, have a genuine interest in technology, and are a curious person.
