At the Environmental and Building Department, we are 14 employees. We handle issues related to community development; for example, building permits and community planning, as well as issues regarding environmental and health protection, alcohol, and tobacco. This work includes supervision and permit assessment. The municipality has an independent committee (Environmental and Building Committee) and an independent administration (Environmental and Building Department).

The Environmental and Building Department is looking for a planning engineer/physical planner based in Strömsund. The position is full-time and permanent. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a planning engineer with us at the Environmental and Building Department, you will have an exciting job through various phases of the planning process. In your role as a planning engineer, you will be responsible for the development of detailed plans, comprehensive plans, and lead the planning project through all its parts. You will collaborate with various stakeholders such as the municipality, the public, and developers. The department also has a GIS engineer and two building inspectors with whom you will work closely.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in urban planning, such as a physical planner, urban planner, landscape architect/architect with further education in urban planning issues, or other education we deem equivalent.

• You need to have a holistic view and a good ability to collaborate on both large and small issues.
• Good understanding of the Planning and Building Act and the Environmental Code.
• Structured and analytical with good problem-solving skills.
• It is required that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and that you are a skilled presenter. A large part of the job involves preparing planning documents and materials.
• Independent and proactive, with the ability to drive projects forward.

We would like you to have experience in:

• working within a politically governed organization,
• municipal work with detailed plans, comprehensive planning, and development projects,
• experience with digital tools such as Focus Detailed Plan, AutoCAD, or similar.

Driver's license B is required for the position.
