We are now looking for a planning architect for the planning and geodata unit's planning group, which currently consists of about 10 people. The unit is part of the Community Building Administration's operations in Environment, Planning, and Construction and consists, in addition to the planning group, of the geodata group. The unit's mission spans from measurement to overview planning, where the unit is responsible for ensuring that physical planning meets the goals and visions set by the municipal council through building development. The unit employs strategists and statisticians, measurement and mapping engineers, GIS engineers, and planning architects.

Borlänge Municipality is in an exciting phase of community development where the planner is a key player. As a planning architect, you have a significant role in the community building chain. At Borlänge Municipality, you will have the opportunity to maintain close dialogues within the administration, with Borlänge residents, politicians, and construction actors, while having a good overview of community planning. We work together to develop the common strategic directions that will then become the basis for planning. Currently, several urban development projects are underway at all planning stages, from overview planning and planning programs to a wide variety of detailed planning work and area regulations. Care is given to the designed environment in the city center as well as in the rural areas and in the municipality's villages and smaller towns. As a planning architect, your work will therefore be varied with great opportunities for development. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The planning and geodata unit is tasked with working on land and water planning and construction. Our work aims to promote community development with equal and good social living conditions and a good and sustainable living environment for our citizens in today's Borlänge and for future generations, considering the individual person's freedom.

As a planning architect, your main task is to work on the development of detailed plans, investigate planning decisions, and various planning investigations. The work also involves participating in internal and external projects, presenting cases politically, and communicating with developers. You take initiative, provide improvement suggestions, and contribute to the development of the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in physical planning and/or architecture. You should be engaged in community building issues, have the drive and courage to be involved in the development of Borlänge and the planning process. Therefore, it is important that you have:

• at least 5 years of experience in planning work
• the ability to explain and communicate the municipality's planning to politicians and citizens
• interest and understanding of the planning process's role in community building
• experience and good knowledge of digital working methods and IT
• very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
• driving license B

It is an advantage for the position if you:

• are used to leading projects
• have experience from planning work in a politically governed organization
• have worked with Focus Detailed Plan and PlanDirect
• have knowledge of land and development issues
• have experience with digitization projects related to the planning process
• knowledge of project and case management systems Antura and Evolution
