About the Workplace

Praktikertjänst’s Health Center in Surahammar is located in the heart of Västmanland, centrally located with easy access to both train and bus connections.

Our modern premises are centrally located in Surahammar, with Surahammar’s Folkets hus as a neighbor across the square.

We are part of Vårduppdrag Västmanland with 9000 registered patients. The health center offers primary care within the entire assignment as a health center, including BVC, MVC, psychosocial team, occupational therapist, and physiotherapist. We also take responsibility for medical staffing at all municipal residences and municipal primary care.

We are a training health center that educates future specialists in general medicine and general training before specialist education, nurses, and district nurses.

As the only health center in the municipality, it is natural for us to work person-centered with “Close Care”. This contributes to having secure patients who know us well and promotes a good working environment with a fantastic community within and between professions.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who, with commitment and drive, want to become part of our operations. With us, you will work closely with our patients and other colleagues as well as healthcare providers. The tasks consist of a comprehensive administrative responsibility for the reception. This involves a varied job as a cashier responsible and local system administrator in the Cosmic journal system and other digital systems. You will handle incoming referrals, staff permissions, invoicing, and payroll administration. You contribute to the development of operations and design and revise local routines in accordance with current guidelines. You are also responsible for the functionality of our digital contact paths such as Mitt PTJ and 1177 Direct.

In your role as management support, tasks include scheduling, absence management, deviation management, financial support, as well as operational and HR issues. You will work closely with the operations manager. As we work with speech recognition for all professions and also plan for the development of AI technology for documentation, it means being more of an IT support to other professions in the operation than the traditional role.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has an approved education in health and medical documentation of 80 points KY or 400p YH, or equivalent approved medical or medical secretary education. You should have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of medical terminology. Previous experience as management support is an advantage.

We would like you to have previously worked in primary care. In our daily work, it is crucial to handle changes and prioritize tasks as the pace varies. You need to adapt your working methods to current conditions and have a strong interest in development, learning, and administration. We value responsibility, participation, and good cooperation between colleagues and management. Your commitment and positive attitude contribute to a good working climate and high-quality care for our patients. You should have the ability to provide a responsive and professional approach, be solution-oriented, and have a high sense of service. If you speak Finnish, it is an advantage as Västmanland is a Finnish administrative area and many of our patients have their origins from Finland. We place great importance on personal suitability.

In the role of medical secretary/administrator, there are high demands on you in everyday life to be available and to be able to switch quickly between different tasks.
