About you

We are looking for someone with a strong sense of service, who enjoys taking responsibility and has a genuine interest in people, especially the elderly. You have the ability to see and understand individual needs and wants, and you want to provide good and caring support.

We prefer that you are a qualified nursing assistant or have experience working in elderly care or another care profession. Perhaps you have started a care education at the high school level or are studying for a healthcare profession such as a nurse, doctor, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or social worker.

You need to be at least 18 years old, able to express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing, and you need to be computer literate. We place great importance on approachability, flexibility, and good teamwork skills.

About the job

Your task as a summer substitute is to ensure that our residents have a safe and meaningful everyday life and receive the care and support they need. The work includes personal care, assistance during meals and activities, documentation, and possibly delegated healthcare tasks. You will work closely with other professionals such as nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and activity leaders to provide the best possible care for each resident.

As a summer substitute, you will receive an introduction tailored to your experiences and knowledge, and we also have a common training day for new employees that all summer substitutes are required to attend. It is important to us that you, as a substitute, can quickly and effectively integrate into the workplace and your tasks so that you feel secure and can contribute.

We offer full-time positions but are open to discussions if you do not wish or cannot work full-time.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. There are also night shifts available for those who wish to work nights.

We are also looking for those who want to work extra as needed during the summer.

The summer is divided into two periods: June 16 – July 13 and July 14 – August 10. We would prefer that you can work a full period, preferably both, and that you can participate in the introduction during the spring.

About the recruitment process

Before any employment, an extract from the criminal record must be presented along with valid photo identification. If you are called for an interview, you need to be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden by showing that you have citizenship within the EU/EES or a valid work permit.

About Danvikshem

Danvikshem is operated by the Danviks Hospital Foundation, which is a non-profit foundation, meaning that all surplus is reinvested in the operations. Danvikshem is a unique place with its large, prominently located main building from 1915, retaining its charm and castle-like feel, and not least a magnificent view of the lake towards Djurgården and over Stockholm.

The foundation was established in 1551 when Gustav Vasa decided to move Stockholm's hospital from present-day Riddarholmen out to Danviken and has since then conducted operations with the mission of providing care to those in need. The current Danvikshem was inaugurated in 1915 and today offers care and accommodation for the elderly. The operations consist of dementia units and somatic units with a total of 224 places.
