Your mission

As an analyst focusing on cyber threats, you belong to a unit within the Cyber Security Office. Together, we monitor and identify the attackers behind the attacks. In this way, we build knowledge about the attackers' methods and motives, which contributes to crucial decision-making in critical issues.

Now, FRA's unit for mapping state cyber threat actors needs to complement its technical analysts with an overarching analyst. Your main task is to analyze IT threats and IT attacks against Sweden and other countries and to draw relevant conclusions and report these to FRA's clients. The area is constantly characterized by new challenges and is an important part of Swedish cyber defense.

Your daily work involves report and intelligence production independently, together with other analysts, and in collaboration with other intelligence agencies in Sweden and abroad (partners). You are the unit's contact person in the co-production of intelligence where other disciplines at FRA or at intelligence agencies in Sweden participate. Furthermore, you will represent the unit in, for example, operational meetings within FRA and may represent FRA in meetings with clients and partners.

You will have a key role with great opportunities to influence the development of intelligence work within the cyber threat area.

Travel may occur in the position. At FRA, we have strong confidentiality, and it is important that you feel comfortable handling it.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience working in the cyber security or cyber threat area
• Experience in threat actor mapping or similar work
• The ability to analyze complex technical phenomena
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

We consider it an advantage if you have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Post-secondary technical or political science education
• Experience in intelligence production in the cyber area
• Experience in similar work at a government agency within defense
• Knowledge of how foreign power cyber threat actors operate
• Intelligence work, qualitative analysis, or research
• Knowledge of Russian
• Knowledge of/worked in areas where Russian is spoken
• Knowledge of foreign and security policy

More information

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes by bus from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. A requirement for employment is a successful security screening with a background check. The security screening will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
