About our job opening

The Child and Adolescent Unit is looking for a specialist physician in pediatric medicine.

Perhaps you have a subspecialization in diabetes/pediatric endocrinology or pediatric cardiology? Within the unit, we cover the entire spectrum of pediatric medicine, and here you will work at a local and just right sized hospital with both breadth and depth. Full-time or part-time can be discussed based on your wishes and the needs of the unit.

We have good collaboration with the University Hospital Queen Silvia's Children and Youth Hospital in Gothenburg, which among other things means good opportunities for further development within your specialty/subspecialty.

Our area of operation (VO) for women and children has a strong focus on research and development and is currently preparing an application to become a university healthcare unit. If you are interested, there are good prospects for conducting research. Our newly established and modern Knowledge Center offers great opportunities to train clinical skills for both professionals and teams.

About us in the Child and Adolescent Unit

Our operations consist of a day care department, inpatient department, neonatal department, emergency services, and specialist outpatient clinic. The unit has about 25 doctors, and we work in a team-oriented manner with close collaboration between different professional categories.

Having a joint VO for women/children means that we naturally follow our patients together with their parents through the various parts of care, from the unborn child until the child is 18 years old. We strive to work person- and family-centered to meet the various needs of our patients and families.

Our catchment area provides approximately 8,000 emergency visits, about 9,000 planned visits, around 2,300 inpatient stays, and just over 3,000 births each year.

Together, we have broad competence in many different subspecialties. We have employees with experience from all corners of the world, which gives us a strength in medical, linguistic, and cultural knowledge as well as an international network that few units can offer. We are committed to providing a good and structured introduction for new employees regardless of prior knowledge and tailor it based on current needs. We have a good and well-structured introduction program for ST doctors.

Your profile

You who are applying have a Swedish medical license with a specialist certificate in pediatric medicine. Subspecialization in diabetes/pediatric endocrinology or pediatric cardiology is an advantage but not a requirement. You master the Swedish language at a corresponding level of C1. We value your ability to collaborate with others and your skills in communication and building good relationships. Being able to understand others' perspectives and situations is fundamental to the work, both concerning patients, relatives, and colleagues. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
