Pharmacist at NU Healthcare

NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.

Description

The hospital pharmacy at NU Healthcare is part of the regional hospital pharmacy and is responsible for the hospital's overall medication management.

Our unit employs various professionals such as pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and assistants. The unit's mission includes responsibility for NU Healthcare's medication supply and management. We are responsible for the production of extemporaneous medications and cytostatics for our care units.

We staff about 20 departments with pharmacists who participate daily in the medication management work of the care departments. As a new employee, you will be introduced by experienced colleagues to learn different aspects of the work and the operations where you will be placed.

Responsibilities

• You will participate in the daily work on care departments as a departmental pharmacist and work as part of the team in the care operation where you are placed.
• You will have the opportunity to contribute your pharmaceutical expertise both in practical tasks and as knowledge support.
• Prepare medications for infusion and injection, such as antibiotics.
• Prepare medication carts.
• Dispense medications to patients ready for discharge.
• Provide knowledge support for healthcare staff and patients in medication management issues.
• Promote good medication economy.

Qualifications

Licensed pharmacist or licensed pharmacy technician. A few years of professional experience is an advantage.

To thrive in this role, you should be confident in your professional role and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. You are flexible and have a good ability to prioritize. The work requires a high level of commitment and personal responsibility.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities that can contribute to good collaboration with the department's staff and operations, such as good communication skills and teamwork ability. We are keen to find the right person for the position.

Other Information

Working hours are during the day on weekdays, excluding weekends. Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period. Work location is Trollhättan.
